Alex Ferguson or to be more exact, Sir Alexander Chapman Ferguson is a legend in football. Ferguson managed Manchester United from 1986 to 2013. During that, he won a total of 38 trophies including 2 UEFA Championship League titles, 5 FA Cups, and 13 Premier League titles.
In 1999, Ferguson was knighted during the Queen’s Birthday Honours for his achievements and contributions to the game. Ferguson was a player himself. His career as an amateur started back in 1957 at the age of 16. He started as a striker.
You can’t talk about the greatest football managers without mentioning Rinus Michels. Rinus is a legend for so many reasons and achievements. One, in particular, is the tactical theory he invented called “Total Football.”
The tactic’s concept is that any outfield player can take on or over the role of any other player. It was Rinus who introduced this strategy which became a foundation for so many victories including the 1970 Ajax victory for the European Cup.
Ajax was not the only team Rinus led, he also led Barcelona to a La Liga victory and the Netherlands to a European Championship back in 1988. Many people would agree that Rinus is the top manager of all time.

Guardiola is one of the most iconic managers of all time. He has the most consecutive league wins in the Premier League, La Liga, and Bundesliga. Right now, he is the manager of the Premier League Manchester City Football Club.
He was part of Barcelona’s dream team led by Johan Cruyff that took the European Cup back in 1992. His career as a coach and manager started with Barcelona B. He led the team to a Tercera Division title.
In his first season as the team manager of a first team, he guided Barcelona to a treble victory in La Liga, Copa Del Rey, and UEFA Championship league.
